Our Director
In the early 1990s, Lisa Burdsall made the decision to establish a nurturing sanctuary for individuals who, like herself, sought solace and healing from their own traumatic experiences. Since January 2009, she has been fully committed to her journey, investing in dedicated training, education, and meticulous planning for Spero Inspired.
Lisa's Story
The spring of 2013 was the beginning of a decade-and-a-half-long training adventure. Lisa actively participated in her first comprehensive 32-hour victim advocate training course at the Life Crisis Center in March 2013. Life Crisis is an organization she remains devoted to supporting in the courtrooms located in our surrounding three counties.
During the summer, she generously donates 5 to 10 hours per week to assist victims of sexual violence in local hospitals for the SART Team, while in the off-season, she dedicates 20 to 30 hours per week to aiding victims in local courtrooms across three counties.
In January 2014, Lisa took part in a 19-hour training program to join the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and continues to serve the community at this capacity. Additionally, she has devoted over 100 hours a year to trauma-based training facilitated by MCASA and other local organizations.
Lisa has devoted her life to assisting survivors of sexual violence on their healing journey. With unwavering compassion, inspiration, and a commitment to justice, she has emerged as an ambitious figure in the field for early 11 years. Lisa's deep empathy for survivors fuels her mission to provide support, empowerment, and resources. After personally witnessing the devastating aftermath of human trafficking and sexual violence, she founded Spero Inspired, an organization providing services for healing and resources to survivors of these terrible crimes.
As Executive Director, Lisa drives fundraising efforts, advocates for policy changes, and creates a healing environment for victims, survivors, and their loved ones. Her impact to date is immeasurable, transforming countless lives and fostering hope and resilience.
